Charity Begins Here (2016)
The Knights of Columbus raise money to give it away for many, many causes and charities. We truly are trying to make our mark on the world through these acts of charity. It is through the dedication, devotion and commitment of our members that we are able to accomplish this goal. Please click the buttons on the left to see just a few of the ways we have helped and supported causes and charities in our community.
Thanks for your continued support of our fund raisers and efforts.
Teens 4 Life
Each Summer The Dodge County Right to Life organization sends a team of teens to the State Leadership Conference. In 2016 they were able send 10 youth ranging in age from 12-19. (of the 63 attendees, 10 teens were from Dodge County).
This ambitious group of kids spent the week at camp learning and exploring the issues that face the dignity of life: Abortion, euthanasia, stem cell research, as well as growing in knowledge about fetal development, government, laws, debate and how to create compassionate dialogue with all interested in discussing the issues.

St. Katharine Drexel School
The Beaver Dam "Knights of Columbus" present a $5,000 check to "St. Katharine Drexel School"!
The donation is earmarked for the Tuition Assistance Fund helping those in need with the cost of a faith filled, values based Catholic education with high academic standards.
Pictured are the BD Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, Randy Richard and SKDS administrator, Barbara Haase.

These youth are prepared and always excited to share the wisdom they gain with youth and adults alike. They are able to discuss with teens the importance of respecting their body and help adults understand the impact of the passage of laws and how important it is to call their legislators to voice concerns.
Knights of Columbus Council 1837 donated $650 helping support the 2016 event. “Dodge County Right-to-Life” (http://wrtl.org/dodge/ )sponsored the registration cost, the Knights helped offset their expense. Here is a link to the “Teens for Life” state website: http://wrtl.org/high-school/
Pregnancy Support Center (PSC)
While presenting the check, brother Knight Craig Payne, shared the following with the ladies:
"The Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County has become a shining beacon in the City of Beaver Dam over the past several years and will continue to have a positive, life-saving impact on the residents of Dodge County for years to come. The Center is an invaluable asset in the quest to protect all human life from the very moment of conception.

The success of the Center is the result of two primary factors; The Divine Guidance of our Savior, Jesus Christ, combined with the untiring commitment and devotion of its all-volunteer staff. The staff compassionately encourages women to choose life for their unborn children as well as working both directly and indirectly to protect the emotional and psychological lives of the mothers and fathers of those children.
On behalf of the Knights of Columbus Council 1837, I offer you our sincere appreciation, our prayers as well as our unending support for your continued success. Please accept this donation as an illustration of our support and admiration for your life saving work."
Accepting the check is PSC Board President, Judy Johnsen and PSC Executive Director, Krys Crawley.
